Mt. Rainier Writing Contest

Win a getaway at Mt. Rainier's National Park Inn, a $200 shopping spree, outdoor adventure getaways, or a $250 freelance contract!

No matter where you go on the globe, you are sure to find beloved spots that capture the spirit of the local culture. But there's nothing quite like finding (and returning again and again to) these spots in your own hometown. Majestic Mt. Rainier—we want you to write about the kinds of places and experiences you can't wait to share with a good friend visiting from out of town or find yourself pining for when you're far from home. Maybe it’s your first visit to the mountain’s wildflower meadows, or watching your children’s reflection blend with the mountain’s as they play near an alpine lake. It could be a quiet moment in the center of an old growth forest or the silence of a snowy evening. Some of our favorite local trips feature area parks, outdoor adventure activities, quaint nature retreats and rustic cabins, festivals, unique shops, historical sites, and romantic places. Here are a few suggestions to get you started:

* Hiking at Mt. Rainier
* Longmire's National Park Inn
* Narada Falls
* Rainier Mountain Festival
* Horse camps in Gifford Pinchot National Forest
* Climbing Mt. Rainier
* Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad
* Wonderland Trail
* Fishing in the Cowlitz and American Rivers
* Tipsoo Lake
* Paradise wildflower meadows
* Snowshoeing at Longmire
* Volunteering at Mt. Rainier National Park
* Mountain Biking in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest

After the contest and once winners are announced, Trazzler will feature their favorite entries on their website and on Twitter, so this is a great opportunity for residents and visitors to tell the world what makes Mt. Rainier a one-of-a-kind place. Spread the word!
