Here are the highlights of happenings around the mountain for Father’s Day Weekend.
Father’s Day Triathlon at Alta Crystal Resort
Give Dad a weekend he’ll never forget. Friday night kicks off Alta Crystal Resort’s 1st Annual Father’s Day Triathlon—a fun “contest” that lasts the whole weekend and one that anyone, no matter their athletic prowess, can enjoy. Participate in the three events, and get a “manly” prize (and a certificate) to commemorate this historic event! The events include a Foosball tournament on Friday night, a Wilderness Survival Quest on Saturday morning, and a Cannonball contest late Saturday afternoon. Find all the details at Alta Crystal Resort.
Father’s Day Breakfast at Northwest Trek
Break out of the normal Father's Day grind with a breakfast at Northwest Trek on Father's Day. Feast on a delicious breakfast and enjoy a tram tour and special program. The cost includes admission for the day. Reservations are required.
Treat Dad to something fun and unique this year by taking him on a ride aboard the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad. This 2+ hour round-trip includes a 15-mile train ride with a stop at an area called Divide, where the steam locomotive will switch sides of the train. The train will then back up to one of the largest wooden trestles in the Northwest. Dad will receive an Engineer's Hat and an opportunity to blow the train's horn! Lunch is a hearty buffet of BBQ ribs and chicken, salads, BBQ beans, biscuits, and mouth watering desserts. 2:00pm Departure.
At the Paradise Inn Dining Room, Chef Sheila Howard prepares cuisine that rivals the inn's striking views of Mt. Rainier and the Tatoosh Range. The Sunday Brunch includes a carving station, smoked salmon, seasonal fresh fruits, delectable desserts and other traditional brunch favorites. It's a legendary meal Dad won't soon forget.
