Snowplay at Paradise this President's Day Weekend

Ready, set, slide! Spend President's Day weeekend at Mt. Rainier racing down the slopes at the popular snowplay area at Paradise. For those who see the snow and feel the need for speed, this is the one place in the park where sleds are welcome - and expected! Squeals and laughter fill the air as people of all ages have a blast careening down the hill.  The Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise will be open during the weekend and on President's Day from 10:00am - 5:00pm.  At Longmire, the National Park Inn Dining Room and Longmire Museum will also be open. 


The Paradise Snowplay Area Vitals:

Where:  The snowplay area is located north of the upper parking lot at Paradise
When:  The snowplay area opens mid-December once five feet of snow is on the ground. It closes each year near the end of March.
What:  "Soft" sliding devices such as flexible sleds, inner tubes, and saucers are allowed. No hard toboggans or runner sleds.
