3rd Annual Wine & Brew Festival at Mt. Rainier

Grapes and hops will put their best flavors forward at the 3rd Annual “On the Road to Paradise” Spring Wine and Brew Festival, from 2 to 8 p.m. on April 28 at the historic Lions Hall in Ashford, Wash. The festival features hard-to-find artisanal wines and microbrews from small Washington producers. The event is held in conjunction with fee-free week, April 21-29, at Mt. Rainier National Park.

“It’s a great opportunity for park goers to maximize their visit,” explained Pam Painter, managing director of the Mt. Rainier Visitor Association. “Visitors can spend time at the park during the day, then spend their evening sampling some of Washington’s award-winning wines and micro brews.”

Tickets can be purchased online at www.road-to-paradise.com. Discounted tickets are available for advance purchase through April 24 for $20. Admission includes a souvenir wine glass, 10 tasting tickets and live entertainment. After the 24th, tickets are $25 and can be purchased either online or at the door.

For those looking to extend their visit, hospitality awaits at area hotels, spas, bed and breakfasts, cabins and vacation rentals. Visitors that book lodging on April 27 and/or 28 in Ashford, Elbe, Mineral or Longmire receive one free festival ticket.
