3rd Annual Mt. Rainier Fall Wine Tasting: November 3rd

During this time of year, it's also a great time to stock up your wine cellar for the holidays and get a head-start on your gift buying. Enjoy live music and a hearty spread of appetizers. Talk with the wine-makers and in the evening, join the crowd out on the dance floor. Lodging operators in the valley offer great savings with packages and discounts during this event weekend.

Featured Wineries:

7 Seas Brewing
Formed in 2008, 7 Seas Brewing is an innovative craft brewery, making audacious, yet technically well-executed beers; utilizing cans rather than bottles; and championing environmental stewardship. They strive to brew, innovate and perfect the Ultimate Proper Pint, one that will invoke an emotional, contemplative response from the drinker. In our homogenized, cookie cutter world of consumerism, there are still people crafting something of integrity and authenticity.

Bateaux Cellars
Bateaux Cellars is a boutique winery located near the Cowlitz River in Washington State. Our name honors the early explorers who traveled these NorthWest waters by bateaux, hand powered boats of commerce and exploration. Our mission is to make exceptional Washington wines approachable, affordable and fun.
Madsen Family Cellars
The Madsen Family Cellars in Olympia, licensed in 2005, began with two barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon. They quickly expanded, opened a tasting room and now have created more than 11 wines, both red and white. Their carefully crafted wines originate with grapes grown in Eastern Washington vineyards including Stone Tree Vineyards on the Wahluke Slope, McKinley Springs Vineyards in Horse Heaven Hills and the Seth Ryan Vineyard in Benton City.

Mountain Lodge Farm
Mountain Lodge Farm is a new farmstead creamery nestled in the foothills of Mt. Rainier. We make amazing chevre cheese from the sweet, fat-rich milk of Nigerian Dwarf and La Mancha goats, who browse daily on the native shrubs, trees and forbs on our land. We want our cheese to have the taste of this wonderful place in the foothills of Mt. Rainier.
Naches Heights Vineyards
The unique volcanic soils in Washington State's newest wine growing region, Naches Heights, combined with the vineyards' unusually high elevation enable Naches Heights Vineyards (NHV) to grow grapes unlike any others. NHV works to preserve their vineyards for future generations. Wherever possible, the grapes at NHV are grown using organic or biodynamic practices and follow the guidelines of programs like Salmon Safe. Join us on the Nov. 3rd and experience award-winning NHV wines!

Northwest Mountain Winery
NW Mountain Winery's winemakers have been in the business for 30 years, starting at a small family winery in Idaho. Their passion for wine making lead them to the Pacific Northwest. From Chardonnays to their Firebreathing Mead, they look forward to sharing their art with you on Nov. 3rd!

Piccola Cellars
Piccola Cellars specializes in Washington State wines delivered in stainless steel kegs with a traditional tap system. Serving the restaurant, catering and retail community, our 100% reusable keg containers, 1.5L wine totes and our 1L refillable give our customers a unique economic and environmental advantage over standard bottle packaging. Our journey began with a deep respect for tradition. We took the ancient art of wine in a cask and adapted it to modern times. We all share a love of good, fresh and affordable wine. Our philosophy: Botte piccola fa vino buono. A small cask makes a good wine.
Scatter Creek Winery
Scatter Creek Winery, owned by Andrea and Terril Keary, has served the Southwest Washington community of Tenino since March 2005 and specializes in a variety of handcrafted wines, from soft whites to bold reds and dessert wines. During 2010, Scatter Creek Winery won the Taster's Choice award at last fall's Road to Paradise Wine Tasting as well as awards at the "Capital Food & Wine Festival" in March and the Taster's Choice award at the "Taste of the Market", in Olympia. Scatter Creek Winery also sells wine gifts and can create individualized labels according to the purchasers' requirements. This year, Scatter Creek will bring the following wines:
Stottle Winery
Stottle Winery, located in Lacey, Washington, sources its grapes from some of the oldest and most prestigious vineyards in Eastern Washington. Founded in 2007 our wines have won some of the highest awards in the state and received high acclaim in national wine publications.

Tulip Valley Winery and Orchard
Tulip Valley Vineyard and Orchard is located in the heart of the Skagit valley tulip region 4 miles west of Interstate 5 at Mt. Vernon on Memorial Highway, SR 536. They produce Tulip Valley hand crafted red and white table wines from eastern and western Washington grapes and also feature Red Barn and Burro Loco artisan hard ciders from locally grown apples.

Whisper Ridge Winery
We are an "Old World" style winery with a hands-on flair. We (Bill & Mandy) are actively involved in the process of selecting outstanding quality grapes from the finest vineyards in Washington to hand labeling each bottle. We truly love the art, elegance (and of course the taste) of our wines! Our first signature wine, "A Voix Basse", made its debut May 2008. Now that the secret is out, our wines are available on a limited quantity but made with infinite quality and style. Tasters of "A Voix Basse" report that it is dangerously delicious, which translates to "I want to drink the whole bottle all to myself."
