Happy Birthday Mount Rainier National Park!
112 years young this week...Happy birthday Mount Rainier National Park! March 2nd, 1899 was the day that President William McKinley signed legislation creating Mount Rainier National Park. It is the nation's fifth national park.
So this week, let's celebrate those awe-inspiring snowy glaciers, the bountiful wildlife calling the park home, the mountain trails that enrich our lives, those unforgettable wildflower meadows and you the visitor -- the true owners of this national treasure that have made the mountain a part of your lives. Here's to you, to magnificent Mt. Rainier and to many more years of mountain majesty!
